UBEマシナリー delivered a 9,000-tonne-class die-casting machine designed for gigacasting to Toyota Motor Corporation. The delivery is considered one of the largest in Japan to date, and the product lineup includes 9,000-, 6,500- and 4,500-tonne machines.
UBEグループ's UBEマシナリー announced that it had delivered a die-casting machine designed for gigacasting, with a clamping force of 9,000 tonnes, to Toyota Motor Corporation. The delivery is said to represent one of the company's largest domestic achievements to date in terms of clamping force.
Gigacasting is a new technology for forming aluminium cast components as a single piece. It is expected to reduce the number of components and manufacturing processes, particularly in areas such as EV production. In Japan, UBEマシナリー offers gigacasting-compatible machines with a range of capacities, including 9,000, 6,500 and 4,500 tonnes.
The company said it aims to strengthen its competitiveness in global markets through the casting technology, quality and reliability characteristic of a Japanese manufacturer.
