US investment firm KKR postponed the launch of its tender offer for Taiyo Holdings to around late November. The reason is that procedures under China’s competition law and Japan’s investment regulations remain incomplete.
US investment firm KKR announced that it would postpone the launch of its tender offer for Taiyo Holdings from the original timing of early October 2026 to around late November. The delay is due to the failure to complete procedures under China’s competition law and Japan’s investment regulations.
KKR announced in March that it would conduct a tender offer to take Taiyo Holdings private, at a tender offer price of ¥4,750 per share. If completed, Taiyo Holdings was expected to be delisted.
The conditions for launching the tender offer included completion of procedures under competition laws and investment regulations in Japan and other jurisdictions. KKR explained that procedures under China’s competition law and Japan’s investment regulations remain incomplete at this time.
No conclusion on the completion of the procedures or specific date for the new launch timing has been provided at this point. A formal announcement will be required.
