In its results for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, YONEX reported net sales of ¥45.468 billion, up 14.1% year on year, operating profit of ¥6.867 billion, up 9.4%, and net profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥5.590 billion, up 31.9%. Sales increased as contracted players performed well at international tournaments and the yen weakened. Selling, general and administrative expenses rose as the company stepped up global marketing investment, but the increase in gross profit was greater, supporting growth in operating profit.
The sporting goods business drove results, with net sales of ¥45.262 billion and operating profit of ¥6.581 billion, both above the year-earlier period. Japan recorded net sales of ¥17.481 billion and operating profit of ¥2.248 billion, while Asia achieved double-digit growth with net sales of ¥23.714 billion and operating profit of ¥4.098 billion. Europe also posted substantial increases in both sales and profit, with net sales of ¥1.851 billion and operating profit of ¥224 million. North America recorded higher sales of ¥2.215 billion, but operating profit fell sharply to ¥9 million.
On the same day, the company raised its full-year earnings forecast. The net sales forecast was increased from ¥178.0 billion to ¥181.0 billion, the operating profit forecast from ¥17.8 billion to ¥18.9 billion, and the forecast for net profit attributable to owners of the parent from ¥13.2 billion to ¥14.2 billion. Net sales and profit are both expected to reach record highs for the full year, marking a sixth consecutive period of record-high profit.
