A new GO Workplace Stars production by DAIICHI CO.,LTD. has been released at the Romancecar Museum. It portrays a world that has slipped back into the Showa era as a theatrical group photo featuring working people, filmed in a single take with no compositing.
DAIICHI CO.,LTD. has announced a new production for GO Workplace Stars, a project that puts uniformed staff at the center. The setting is the Romancecar Museum, where successive generations of Romancecar trains are displayed. Each performer was given a role, incorporating a variety of movements and expressions from station staff, maintenance workers, onboard service staff, cleaners, café staff, railway enthusiasts and travelers.
The composition places a Romancecar at the center, surrounded by people each performing their respective roles. Destination displays, railway equipment, onboard sales carts and model trains that evoke the Showa era are incorporated throughout, creating a narrative in a space unique to the museum.
The theme of the production is “a time slip to the Showa era.” By combining nostalgic items and fashions with travelers enjoying their journeys and the people serving them, the project aimed to create photographs that invite viewers to look back at the details. During the shoot, movements, positions, handheld items and timing were adjusted in detail.
After the production was completed, the team also photographed a group shot of everyone with natural expressions, distinct from the dramatic production shots. The performers shared the experience of creating a single work together in the same place, beyond their everyday workplace roles.
