Trailhead Global Holdings announced that it will step up its expansion across Asia in 3 markets: Mongolia, Taiwan and Sri Lanka. Under an asset roll-up growth model that combines manufacturing capabilities in Japan with local partners, the company will pursue the simultaneous rollout of multiple brands.
Trailhead Global Holdings announced plans to expand its business into 3 countries: Mongolia, Taiwan and Sri Lanka. The company outlined a policy of implementing the same model at 3 stages in each market: signing agreements, reaching basic agreements and initiating consideration, while using its domestic manufacturing capabilities to advance its overseas expansion.
In Mongolia, the company signed business partnership agreements with Onono Corporation and Onono Village and will begin supplying 1-serving packs of Gifts from the Mountain Hut tonkotsu ramen to the local market. Test sales in the market are scheduled to begin in October 2026, with discussions on expanding distribution channels to follow.
In Taiwan, the company reached a basic agreement with a counterparty that operates 2 ramen restaurants and a central kitchen, and is considering acquiring the business and establishing a joint venture. THG is expected to hold an 80% stake and the counterparty a 20% stake, with the structure designed to carry forward the expertise of the existing management team.
In Sri Lanka, the company is considering opening a multi-concept outlet in the food and beverage area of the Port City Colombo special economic zone. The proposed outlet would combine Kyushu Chikuho Ramen Yamagoya, KINKA and BURGER REVOLUTION. The project remains at the stage of considering an opening, with a view to entering the market at an early stage. The review period is expected to run for 6 months from August 2026.
The company positions the 3 projects not as standalone transactions, but as an effort to take its domestic roll-up growth model overseas. It emphasized a 3-tier model for diversifying revenue through 3 pillars: product supply, brand licensing and store operations, while maintaining 1 manufacturing site in Japan.
