PBOOKMARK has received a bankruptcy commencement order from the Kagoshima District Court, Kajiki Branch, with total liabilities reported at approximately ¥74 million. Established in 2019, the company operated community cafés and coworking spaces in addition to its e-commerce operations and web marketing consulting business.
The company expanded its business by entering the municipal designated management services business, among other activities. Although demand for coworking spaces and growth in regional revitalization-related businesses were expected after the COVID-19 pandemic, the anticipated growth did not materialize, making it increasingly difficult to secure revenue.
Income declined as commissioned service contracts came to an end, causing the company’s cash flow to deteriorate. It also became difficult to continue managing Kuroishidake Forest Park under its contract with Kirishima City, and the company ceased operations by 12 July 2026. Bankruptcy proceedings were subsequently commenced by that date. The designated management contract for Kuroishidake Forest Park was terminated effective 31 July.
