New features include BIM drawing review support, online building confirmation applications and support for the 2×4 construction method, with a color floor plan function planned for a future release.
DTS Corporation announced that it will begin selling the latest version of its 3D residential CAD software, Walk in home (Walk in home), the Walk in home 2026 version, on a rolling basis from October. Based on support for BIM drawing reviews, this version will enable users to complete IFC data export, PDF export of design documents and preparation of declarations of compliance with input and output standards within Walk in home.
As a new feature, application data can be created based on the XML schema for online building confirmation applications, and the completed application documents can be uploaded to the ICBA electronic filing reception system for online submission. Integration with Walk in home Portal will also enhance functions including data version management, difference checks and 3D viewing of IFC data.
Support for the 2×4 construction method has also been added, along with functions for entering floor plans, outputting drawings and reports, and checking wall quantity calculations. This is intended to reduce rework during subsequent allowable stress calculations. A color floor plan function is scheduled for release in March 2027, enabling drawings to be presented according to their intended use.
Since its initial launch in 2000, Walk in home has supported the creation of floor plans, CG perspective views and supporting drawings. The software supports Windows 11. It is sold at an open price, which varies by distributor.
