Saint Marc Café Tama Minamino, a bakery restaurant in Tama, has been renovated as a museum restaurant. A total of 9 works created by 7 students from Tokyo Zokei University are now on display inside the restaurant.
Saint Marc Café Tama Minamino set 21 October 2026 as its reopening date and changed the interior to a museum restaurant concept. The exhibition includes 9 works created by 7 students from Tokyo Zokei University, creating a new space where visitors can enjoy art while dining.
Saint Marc representatives selected the works during a visit to the university, taking into account not only the drawings and other works created by each student, but also exhibition arrangements such as lighting and how the works would be secured. Works ranging from pieces made with Japanese paper and oil-based ink to oil paintings and acrylic works are displayed in the restaurant, with lighting effects that produce different reflections during the day and at night.
This initiative began with a collaboration with Kurashiki University of Science and the Arts at the Omoto store in Okayama. In May 2026, an exhibition of works by Otemae University began at the Kobe Gakuentoshi store in Kobe, making the Tama Minamino store the third such location nationwide. Projection mapping has also been added, combined with video provided by a university in another department.
The exhibition is an ongoing initiative rather than a limited-time event. The current 9 works will be displayed for approximately 6 months before being replaced in stages from 2027 onward. The company plans to continue offering new experiences combining dining and art through seasonal presentations and rotating exhibitions.
