SBS Holdings held a completion ceremony for the Tomisato Logistics Center, which it had been developing in Tomisato, Chiba Prefecture. Taking advantage of its location approximately 10 km from Narita Airport and approximately 1.7 km from the Tomisato Interchange on the Higashi-Kanto Expressway, the facility will serve as a hub supporting delivery networks in the Tokyo metropolitan area and nationwide. Alternatively, the facility is a large, four-storey above-ground multi-tenant facility, with a total floor area of approximately 118,000 sq m and a site area of approximately 52,000 sq m.
The facility is designed to combine environmental considerations with disaster preparedness and incorporates a self-consumption power generation system using approximately 5,000 solar panels. It contributes to regional flood control through the installation of facilities to curb rainwater runoff and through afforestation, and has established business continuity planning (BCP) arrangements with an emergency diesel generator and long-duration emergency lighting.
