GMO AI&ロボティクス商事 and TechShare have entered into a capital and business alliance and announced plans to jointly accelerate the domestic adoption of Unitree robots and the implementation of physical AI across industries.
GMO AI&ロボティクス商事, part of GMO Internet Group, signed a basic agreement for a capital and business alliance with TechShare on 14 September 2026. GMO AIR plans to acquire shares issued by TechShare, and the companies will coordinate their sales and technical support systems as Unitree's authorized domestic distributors.
The companies aim to accelerate the domestic adoption of Unitree robots, which have the world's No. 1 market share, establish maintenance and after-sales support systems, and promote the joint development of solutions, thereby advancing the implementation of physical AI, including humanoid robots, in society.
The backdrop is the expanding use of robots in the real world driven by advances in generative AI, as well as the need to establish sales, technical support and maintenance systems that can help address labor shortages resulting from Japan's declining birthrate and aging population. TechShare has supported demonstrations by educational institutions and companies as Unitree's authorized domestic distributor since 2020, while GMO AIR signed an authorized domestic distributor agreement in June 2026 and is leveraging its customer base.
Going forward, the companies plan to strengthen sales cooperation for Unitree robots and maintenance and support systems for adopting companies, while continuing to contribute to the education and broader adoption of robot technology.
