Japan TCS has launched support services for power transmission and distribution companies to build an Energy Intelligence Platform. The service provides an environment for integrated use of IT, OT and ET data across areas including asset maintenance, grid operations and supply-demand forecasting.
Tata Consultancy Services Japan (Japan TCS) has begun offering services to support domestic power transmission and distribution companies in building an Energy Intelligence Platform (EIP). The company aims to create a data platform that integrates IT, OT and ET to support stable operation of power transmission and distribution networks.
EIP integrates key components including GIS, ADMS and data historians, creating an integrated data platform through the convergence of IT, OT and ET. This enables data to be used across asset maintenance, grid operations, supply-demand forecasting and management control. The service is intended to provide a neutral data integration approach that enables cross-functional use of data accumulated across previously siloed systems.
Japan TCS has established a specialist team focused on power transmission and distribution. Drawing on its global expertise and track record in the power industry, it will support the development of EIP solutions tailored to conditions in Japan. Key components include SCADA, EMS, ADMS, DERMS, data historians, GIS and Asset/OMS, with the design supporting forecasting and automation through an AI and intelligence layer.
The company cites its track record in Japan, including the development and implementation of optimization models for thermal power plant operations using AI, and says it has established a collaborative framework covering everything from concept development through implementation and operation.
