ヤッホーブルーイング announced the launch of its new product, the Wobbly Beer Glass by YONA YONA ALE, and unveiled its new design, which encourages people to drink beer and water simultaneously. Reservations will be accepted through the official online store from 5 August, with shipping scheduled to begin sequentially from mid-September.
ヤッホーブルーイング developed the Wobbly Beer Glass by YONA YONA ALE, a glass designed to encourage the simultaneous consumption of beer and water, and announced that advance sales through its official online store will begin on 5 August 2026. The price is ¥13,750 including tax, excluding shipping, and shipments will begin sequentially from mid-September.
The U-shaped glass loses its balance and tips over when beer is consumed alone, but becomes stable when the same amount of water is consumed. It holds approximately 270 ml each of beer and water, and its base is shaped like a car tire to improve stability. The product was developed through 7 rounds of prototyping.
The product was developed against the backdrop of the importance of hydration. In a survey conducted by the company in May 2026, 75.6% of 636 Japanese people who drink alcohol said they were aware that alcohol causes dehydration, while 75.0% said they were not getting enough fluids when drinking. Reasons cited for inadequate hydration included losing awareness of the need to drink water.
The product is scheduled to become available from 5 August at the official beer restaurant YONA YONA BEER WORKS Shintora-dori and approximately 30 beer bars and restaurants nationwide. It will also be offered for a limited time from mid-August at the JAL Sakura Lounge at Chubu Centrair International Airport. In addition, the company plans to run a free distribution campaign for restaurants nationwide, providing 2 glasses each to 50 locations during the campaign period.
