The bequest-giving magazine “En Gift” began being installed at branches of The Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank,Ltd. in September 2026. It aims to provide customers in Gifu Prefecture and surrounding areas with information on connecting their wishes to make bequests with the use of local assets.
The Japan Association for Bequest Giving (Will for Japan) and The Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank,Ltd. began installing the bequest-giving magazine “En Gift” at branches of OKB The Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank,Ltd. in September 2026. En Gift is a specialist bequest-giving magazine issued and distributed free of charge once a year by the association, with approximately 100,000 copies distributed to date.
In addition to explaining bequest giving, the magazine introduces organisations that have contributed to solving social issues. It aims to present bequest giving to readers as a new option for supporting the development of local healthcare, welfare and education.
The background to the installation is explained as follows: bequest giving is a way to donate part of one's assets, after death through a will, to local nonprofit organisations, schools and other recipients. It can be started with a small amount and carried out without concern about the balance of one's deposits. Going forward, the initiative aims to deepen cooperation with local financial institutions and increase opportunities for local residents to view bequest giving as a familiar option.
The Japan Association for Bequest Giving continues its efforts to connect assets to the future of local communities by promoting the preparation of wills and understanding of bequest giving. Established in 2019, it promotes the provision of information online, the training of specialists and the development of consultation services.
