Advantest’s first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027 (April–June 2026) saw net sales of ¥367.473 billion, up 39.3% year on year, and operating profit of ¥189.990 billion, up 53.3%. Its operating margin exceeded 50%, reaching 51.7%. By business segment, both SoC testers and memory testers generated higher sales as demand expanded alongside increased production and shipments of AI semiconductors, while the company also responded to growing CPU demand in AI data centers.
By region, sales to Taiwan declined from the previous quarter, while sales to South Korea and China increased. In South Korea, memory tester sales grew on higher demand for HBM and NAND, while SoC tester sales also increased. Higher SoC tester sales contributed to growth in China as well. These developments pushed up overall sales and profit.
Based on its first-quarter results, the company significantly raised its full-year forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027. Full-year net sales are now projected at ¥1.714 trillion, up year on year, and operating profit at ¥846 billion, also up year on year, with growth in both SoC testers and memory testers expected to exceed previous forecasts. The outlook also indicated that expected increases in capital spending by major US IT companies should support expanding demand for leading-edge semiconductors.
Rakuten Securities has raised its full-year forecasts further, projecting net sales of ¥1.730 trillion and operating profit of ¥850 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2027. For the fiscal year ending March 2028, it forecasts net sales of ¥2.300 trillion and operating profit of ¥1.200 trillion. Against this backdrop, it has set a target price of ¥46,000 for the next 6–12 months.
