Aisan Technology's share price has reached a new year-to-date high. Against the backdrop of its holding of 1,575,000 TIER IV shares, attention is focused on whether the value of the company's assets is being properly reflected in the market.
On 28 August 2026, Aisan Technology's share price rose as high as ¥2,700, reaching a new year-to-date high, before closing at ¥2,661. The move appears to have been driven by the announced acquisition of a patent for 3D point-cloud technology and an influx of funds into autonomous-driving-related stocks.
Aisan holds 1,575,000 shares in TIER IV, an autonomous-driving software company. Based on TIER IV's closing price of ¥1,999 on 28 August, the holding had a market value of approximately ¥3.15 billion. Aisan's market capitalization, estimated from its share price at the end of August and the number of shares outstanding, was approximately ¥14.77 billion, putting the holding at slightly more than one-fifth of that value.
The 3.42% ownership ratio is not accurate when compared with the number of shares outstanding at the time of the IPO. Including potential shares, the ratio stated in the prospectus is 3.0%. The current ratio could be approximately 2.48%, assuming approximately 63.52 million shares outstanding after the listing.
The greatest risks are that the TIER IV shares represent not only a realizable financial asset but also a strategic investment in an important business partner, and that Aisan faces a risk of delayed financial results owing to internal issues in 2026, including improper transactions at the company itself.
