岩塚製菓 revised its first-half ordinary profit forecast downward and lowered its full-year outlook at the same time. The announcement was made at around 10:15 p.m. on 30 October 2026, with rising raw material costs and sluggish sales volume growth cited as the background.
On 30 October 2026, 岩塚製菓 revised its consolidated ordinary profit forecast for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027 (April-September) down 26.7%, from ¥1.5 billion to ¥1.1 billion. The previous year’s result was ¥2.11 billion, and the expected decline in profit is now projected to widen from 29.1% to 48.0%.
At the same time, following the deterioration in first-half performance, the company revised its full-year consolidated ordinary profit forecast down 10.5%, from ¥1.9 billion to ¥1.7 billion. This represents an expected decline from the previous fiscal year’s result of ¥2.88 billion. Revenue is expected to remain at its current level, but higher rice prices and rising packaging material and energy costs are putting pressure on profit.
The company said it will position the third quarter as the peak season for demand for rice crackers and continue expanding sales of its core products and raising brand awareness, while implementing price revisions and improving production efficiency and reducing costs to improve profitability. It also announced revisions to its full-year ordinary profit forecast and net income attributable to owners of the parent.
