EDION outlines its new store, relocated and rebuilt in the Asahikawa Nagayama area. The store opened approximately 2 km from the former location, at a new site along the national highway, and expanded its sales floor with new children's and projector areas.
EDION relocated and reopened its EDION Asahikawa Nagayama store in Asahikawa on 16 October 2026. The former store was located in Nagayama 3-jo 8-chome, while the new store has shifted closer to the city centre along the same National Route 39.
The new sales floor covers approximately 986 tsubo, an increase of approximately 100 tsubo from the former store, and the store has 36 employees. On the premises, Marugen Ramen Asahikawa Nagayama, its first location in Asahikawa, is scheduled to open on Saturday, 31 October 2026, while the beef-bowl and tonkatsu restaurant Matsuya/Matsunoya Asahikawa Nagayama is scheduled to open on Sunday, 1 November. The stores are expected to generate synergies in attracting customers.
The store has installed a Neverland play area, the first among EDION's 3 stores in Asahikawa, as well as a projector area in the video-appliance section for easy large-screen projection. The product range has also been strengthened, including the renovation division.
Before the opening, the store was publicised through a flyer distributed the previous day. On opening day, the parking lot was nearly full and approximately 700 people lined up outside the store. Store manager Yukinori Shibata said he wanted to bring smiles and prosperity to people's lives.
