CHARLE CO.,LTD. has decided, by resolution of its board of directors, to solicit voluntary retirements. Eligible employees are those aged 50 to 60 with at least 10 years of service and re-employed contract employees aged 60 to 63. The company plans to accept approximately 25 applications from 9 to 18 November, with retirement scheduled for 31 March 2027.
At a board meeting held on 29 October, CHARLE CO.,LTD. decided to solicit voluntary retirements to improve earnings and reduce its cost of capital. Eligible employees are those meeting the conditions as of 31 March 2027, and approximately 25 positions are targeted.
Under its medium-term management plan, the company has been accelerating business-structure reform and efforts to strengthen its profit base. However, its operating environment has become more difficult as customer attrition caused by an aging customer base, rising costs and inventory write-downs have coincided.
Employees taking voluntary retirement will receive preferential treatment, including additional retirement payments, and outplacement support services will also be provided. Special additional payments and outplacement support costs are expected to total ¥426 million and be recorded as an extraordinary loss for the fiscal year ending March 2027.
The measures are described as part of a fundamental reform aimed at restoring the performance of the CHARLE business and achieving management focused on the cost of capital.
