ALBIS (7475) announced that it will discontinue its shareholder benefits. The stated reason for the discontinuation is a public tender offer (TOB) by major food supermarket operator LIFE CORPORATION, and ALBIS is expected to be delisted after the TOB is completed.
The announced TOB price is ¥3,780 per share, and the TOB was announced at 17:15 on 8 September. In after-hours trading, the share price temporarily rose to around the TOB price, and attention is focused on developments going forward.
ALBIS previously provided shareholders holding 100 or more shares with group-wide shopping vouchers or specialty products from the Hokuriku region twice a year, based on the number of shares held and the holding period. The program will be discontinued after the March 2026 benefits.
At the same time, ALBIS revised its dividend forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 to zero, which could affect its financial and shareholder-return policies on the assumption that the TOB will be conducted. The closing price as of 8 September was ¥2,500, and the shares are expected to trade toward the TOB price of ¥3,780.
