オープンアップグループ is refreshing its management structure effective 1 October 2026 and will transition to a new structure centred on seven management domains. It is replacing its previous business-unit structure and promoting the use of AI and data across the group.
The previous unit structure will be discontinued and replaced by a new organisational structure centred on seven Management Domains. Leaders will be assigned to each domain, while the newly established Group Reinvention domain will integrate group strategy, the use of AI and data, and organisational transformation.
Following the sale of overseas businesses as part of the shift back toward domestic operations, the group is seeking to maximise its technical workforce. It is reported to have 24,211 engineers as of the end of July 2026.
The newly established Group Reinvention domain will integrate the expertise and customer bases of operating companies in areas including IT, electrical and mechanical engineering, semiconductors and construction, and will be responsible for using AI and technology to create value across the group. Asako Hayata (早田 麻子), Representative Director, President and COO, said that connecting the organisation and its people will be key in anticipation of changes to the nature of work brought about by AI.
The organisational change aims to realise the purpose of “creating a society that unlocks each individual's potential through fulfilling work” and is expected to form the foundation for new value creation by a human resources services company in 2026, as AI agents increasingly perform work in practice.
