Buffalo has announced the TeraStation TS71210RHV2/TS51220RHV2, a new series of business NAS devices equipped with 80 PLUS Platinum-certified power supplies. Shipping and sales will begin sequentially from early November.
Buffalo Inc. has announced the new TeraStation TS71210RHV2 and TS51220RHV2 series of rack-mount NAS devices for data centers and large offices. The products use high-efficiency power supplies to reduce power consumption compared with previous models.
The TS71210RHV2 series has four 10GbE ports, while the TS51220RHV2 series has two. Both come standard with 16 GB of memory to support high-speed data transfer and reliability. They also retain features designed to mitigate failures, including nearline HDDs, redundant power supplies and firmware redundancy.
For security, the products meet the requirements for JC-STAR Level 1 compliance. Snapshot and abnormal file-operation detection features support data recovery and protection, strengthening the products' ransomware defenses.
For operations, support for the free Kiki Navi remote management service enables remote monitoring and configuration changes, which is expected to reduce maintenance workload and on-site service costs. Prices start at ¥2.486 million for the 12-drive data center model and ¥1.518 million for the 4-drive model, while the TS51220RHV2 series starts at ¥2.09 million for the 12-drive model and ¥1.122 million for the 4-drive model. Shipping and sales will begin sequentially from early November.
