NIPPON COKE & ENGINEERING COMPANY,LIMITED announced that it has acquired manufacturing and sales rights for particle size distribution and zeta potential measurement instruments from a U.S. company. The company will use this opportunity to pursue the development of new markets.
The equipment ordered will be used to validate technologies related to CO2 capture and utilization (CCU), with plans to conduct validation using emitted CO2 and estimate the CO2 reduction effects. Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. is said to have already established technology for highly efficient recovery of CO from CO2.
Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. is constructing a medium-scale testing facility in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture, and plans to begin trial operation during the current fiscal year. Going forward, the company plans to promote collaboration aimed at achieving decarbonization while seeking to introduce the technology to a broad range of companies.
Based on the initiatives of both companies, further progress is expected in technological collaboration and the consideration of commercialization.
