Fuji Oil will exhibit at Food Development Exhibition 2026 and present MAM, a soybean ingredient that may help maintain kidney health by improving cats' gut health. The company will also present the results of joint research and the response on social media.
Fuji Oil, based in Osaka Prefecture, plans to exhibit at Food Development Exhibition 2026 and showcase MAM, an indigestible soybean protein ingredient. MAM has been suggested as potentially contributing to the maintenance of kidney health by improving cats' gut health, and its use in pet food is anticipated.
A study conducted jointly with Iwate University, the joint research institution, reportedly found that cats consuming MAM had lower levels of intestinal putrefactive products and blood uremic compounds, improved stool odor and lower blood creatinine levels. This was said to be the first report indicating the potential for maintaining health through the gut-kidney axis.
The news release was published on the company's website in September 2026, and its response spread mainly on social media via online media. The post on Fuji Oil's official X account generated approximately 200,000 impressions, while related posts reportedly exceeded 1 million impressions in total.
The exhibition overview states that the company plans to present an outline of MAM's ingredients, explain the technology and propose applications for the ingredient through business discussions.
