The new croissant taiyaki “Daigakuimo” will launch as a limited-time autumn offering at participating locations nationwide on 6 November. It combines sweet-potato paste made with Naruto Kintoki sweet potatoes, sweet syrup and black sesame.
Hotland Holdings, which operates Tsukiji Gindaco, will launch the new “Daigakuimo” product for a limited time from 6 November at croissant taiyaki locations nationwide. It will also launch simultaneously at Gin no An locations.
The new product is made by generously wrapping Naruto Kintoki sweet-potato paste and candied sweet potato in specially prepared croissant dough and baking it at high temperature. It features the natural sweetness of sweet potato, syrup and the roasted aroma of black sesame.
The 24-layer dough provides a crisp exterior and chewy interior. The surface is coated with coarse sugar and finished with black sesame and salt to evoke the autumn season.
The price is ¥280 each, or ¥302 including tax for takeaway. The product is called croissant taiyaki “Daigakuimo.” It will launch on 6 November 2026 and be sold at Tsukiji Gindaco locations nationwide, excluding some stores.
