Pagaya Technologies posted record second-quarter profit and raised its outlook. The company completed a US$900 million AAA-rated personal loan ABS transaction, marking further progress in expanding its institutional investor network.
According to Pagaya Technologies' second-quarter results, net income reached a record US$45 million, while the company also raised its outlook. The company attributed this to stronger funding capacity supported by its AI-driven credit assessment platform, suggesting that its funding base expanded in the short term, although risks such as regulatory and competitive pressures remain.
The US$900 million expanded AAA-rated personal loan ABS transaction completed by the company on 27 July was cited as a development directly linked to broadening its investor base. The transaction added 37 ABS investors, including investors making their first investment through Pagaya's platform. This is viewed as further expanding the institutional investor network.
For the company, which aims to increase transaction volumes across its network, diversifying ABS purchasers is an important element of growth. At the same time, some views have noted that the risk of investor exposure becoming concentrated in particular partners remains a matter requiring attention.
The company has presented a forecast calling for revenue of US$2 billion and profit of approximately US$396 million by 2029, prompting further consideration of its growth scenario and valuation comparisons.
