Iwatsuka Seika revised its consolidated operating result for April–September 2026 downward to a ¥260 million loss. This represents a significant deterioration from the previous forecast for an operating profit.
Iwatsuka Seika released its results for the current fiscal year on the 30th and indicated that its consolidated operating result for April–September 2026 is expected to be a ¥260 million loss. The company had reported an operating profit of ¥156 million in the same period of the previous year, but withdrew its forecast for an operating profit and is now expected to post an operating loss. The previous forecasts for revenue and operating profit remain unchanged, while net profit has not been revised downward and is expected to decline 43% year on year to ¥1.1 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2027.
The company explained that the use of 2025-crop rice as an ingredient was one factor putting pressure on profit, with higher raw material costs having an impact.
