Yakult Honsha has fully launched joint trunk-line transportation with Nippon Paper Crecia, using mixed loads of ambient-temperature products traveling from a Kanagawa site to an Okayama site to improve the use of transportation resources and reduce environmental impact.
Yakult Honsha announced on the 15th that it had fully launched joint trunk-line transportation with Nippon Paper Crecia, a member of the Nippon Paper Group. Beginning on the 1st, the companies will transport products from a logistics site in Kanagawa Prefecture to a site in Okayama Prefecture, making use of the characteristics of both companies' products that allow them to be distributed at ambient temperature. The initiative aims to improve transportation efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
The initiative is being pursued partly because the companies use the Nippon Paper Group's paper-pack products and seek to make effective use of transportation resources in ambient-temperature logistics. A test operation period has been set for June to August, with the aim of developing a sustainable long-distance transportation model through practical operations.
