トーカイ revised its full-year earnings and dividend forecasts upward and is expected to raise its year-end dividend. This is expected to bring forward the timing of its operating profit target, prompting a rebound in the share price.
トーカイ, whose business is centered on dispensing pharmacies, raised its consolidated operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 from ¥8.99 billion to ¥10.3 billion, turning to an outlook for higher profit. The increase was attributed to prescription prices for drug and technical fees exceeding plan, while the group’s consolidated subsidiaries are also expected to begin contributing to results in the second half.
The dividend forecast was also raised, with the year-end dividend changing from ¥40 to ¥49 and the annual dividend expected to increase from ¥68 to ¥89. The company said it expects to achieve its operating profit target of ¥9.5 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2028, the final year of its medium-term management plan, ahead of schedule.
The share price on the 23rd rose ¥105 from the previous day to ¥2,906. The market responded favorably to the upside in earnings and dividends, while attention is focused on the future consolidation of subsidiaries and improvements to the business structure.
