In Fast Retailing’s full-year results for the fiscal year ended August 2026, the company behind Uniqlo surpassed H&M and posted record profit. Growth in its overseas business was the main driver, with sales in North America and Europe rising sharply. Developments in the United States and China are strategic focal points.
Fast Retailing’s full-year results for the fiscal year ended August 2026 showed revenue of ¥3.9633 trillion, business profit of ¥718.4 billion and net profit of ¥542.5 billion, marking a record high for the fifth consecutive period. As a result, it surpassed its long-standing rival H&M in terms of performance.
Expansion of the overseas business was the true driver of the company’s advance. Global revenue was ¥2.4111 trillion and business profit was ¥439.8 billion, driving increases in both revenue and profit. Revenue in North America was ¥364.9 billion and revenue in Europe was ¥512.6 billion, both recording strong growth. Combined sales in the United States and Europe exceeded sales in Greater China for the first time, clearly indicating a strategic shift in overseas expansion.
The US market remains relatively small. North America is said to account for approximately 9.21% of total global sales, Europe approximately 12.9% and Greater China approximately 18.3%. Sales in the United States are expected to increase with the opening of new stores in New York, Chicago and elsewhere, while store expansion is expected to continue.
The growing overseas contribution of Fast Retailing, which owns Uniqlo, is making its next ambition as a company with a scale of ¥4 trillion increasingly attainable.
