CLIP CORPORATION, listed on the TSE Standard market, announced that it has decided to exit the food-service business and will end the business as of the end of March 2027. The company primarily operated a home-delivery service for Japanese boxed meals for older people, but said it had become difficult to continue the business. The move is intended to concentrate management resources on its core businesses.
The company explained that the exit comes against a challenging business backdrop of continuing losses and cost pressures, including higher raw material prices and labor costs. Employees engaged in the business being discontinued are scheduled to be reassigned within the group, with the company intending to maintain their employment.
The public disclosure included a notice concerning the withdrawal from the food-service business. The company is also expected to continue strengthening its financial base and reviewing its business portfolio.
