住友林業 has developed a timber modular building, provisionally named KIBLO / Kiblo, for small-scale commercial use. Each unit is made of approximately 10 m² of timber and is manufactured in a factory before being transported to the site for installation and joining. After initial use, the units can be dismantled, relocated, and reassembled individually, creating a circular timber building model. The model is expected to reduce on-site labor and shorten construction periods, with product availability planned from 2027 onward.
At GREEN×EXPO 2027, the building will be used as an approximately 180 m² back-office building within the 住友林業 pavilion, Hyaku no Mori. After the exhibition ends, it is planned to be relocated and reused at another site.
