Compared with the previous forecasts, the revisions represent increases of 8.3% for net sales, 7.5%–28.4% for operating profit and ordinary profit, and 5.7%–25.4% for net income.
The upward revision reflects the faster-than-expected acquisition of project creators seeking to expand sales of new products, supported by the acquisition and post-listing growth support of projects in the home appliance and gadget categories, which attract strong interest from supporters on Makuake. Revenue from ancillary services, centered on outsourced advertising distribution, also grew substantially.
The company expects its profit metrics to exceed the previous forecasts, also reflecting the benefits of thorough company-wide cost management.
