Starzen will strengthen shareholder initiatives focused on individual investors with a view to remaining in TOPIX. It will lower the minimum investment unit, expand McCard shareholder benefits, expand its employee stock ownership plan and purchase treasury shares, with the aim of raising the free-float ratio and improving capital efficiency.
As TOPIX reforms make improved liquidity and a higher free-float ratio requirements for remaining in TOPIX, Starzen has worked to stabilize its financial base and enhance corporate value. President Yokota Kazuhiko (横田 和彦) has promoted organizational reforms, including the integration of production, processing and sales, and is working to stabilize performance by establishing an efficient sales structure that responds to inventory levels.
The share price has risen to near its post-listing high and is approximately 1.7 times its 2024 level, strengthening the earnings base. Director Sana (佐奈), who oversees finance, cites measures linking structural reforms with the company’s response to TOPIX as the foundation for a stable capital policy.
Measures targeting individual investors include lowering the minimum investment unit and expanding shareholder benefits. The introduction of McCards, which can be used at stores operated by business partners of McDonald’s Holdings, and special 55th anniversary benefits have attracted attention, raising the proportion of individual shareholders and contributing to an increase in the market capitalization of the free float. Participation in the employee stock ownership plan has also increased, helping secure stable shareholders.
In 2025, the company acquired part of the shares sold by financial institutions as treasury shares and used the funds to grant restricted stock to employees and increase incentive payments. Under Medium-Term Management Plan 2030, it has set a target ROE of 10% or more, aiming to enhance corporate value through improved capital efficiency.
