ROBOT PAYMENT announced a capital and business alliance with Rakus and plans to develop Billing Management Robo on an OEM basis for Rakus, with the aim of launching it as a new product, Rakuraku Receivables Management, by the end of 2026. The proceeds from the disposal of treasury shares are expected to be allocated to future development costs.
ROBOT PAYMENT announced a capital and business alliance with Rakus as of 12 August, along with the disposal of treasury shares through a third-party allotment. The centerpiece of the alliance is a plan for ROBOT PAYMENT to develop Billing Management Robo on an OEM basis for Rakus, which will combine it with its own invoice data integration and issuance functions and launch it as Rakuraku Receivables Management. The existing in-house version will continue as Rakuraku Receivables Management Lite.
Rakus is expanding its customer base around its electronic invoicing system, Rakuraku Meisai, which holds the leading market share by both sales and number of companies using the system. Through the alliance, ROBOT PAYMENT's functionality will be offered to Rakus's customer base, with both companies aiming to acquire customers and expand sales.
Under its long-term strategy, ROBOT PAYMENT has clarified its investment criteria to accelerate revenue growth. When net assets are ¥5 billion or less, 15% of the prior year's cash flow will be allocated to business investment, with the ratio rising to 20% when net assets exceed ¥5 billion. For M&A and CVC investments, internal-retention ratios will be set according to the size of the investment to prepare for future growth opportunities. In line with the policy announced in 2025, the company has set targets of ¥21 billion in revenue and ¥3.1 billion in operating profit for the fiscal year ending March 2035.
The capital and business alliance is expected to accelerate the adoption of Rakuraku Receivables Management and the accumulation of data, expanding opportunities for AI analysis and functionality enhancements. Rakus is targeting the acquisition of 1,000 customers by 2029, and annual revenue of approximately ¥500 million is expected based on an assumed monthly fee of ¥40,000. While monetization from this initiative will be given top priority, promotional activities using webinars and agency programs are also under consideration.
