Electric Power Development Co.,Ltd. and Sega XD have launched full-scale operations of their jointly developed AR content “Power Plant See-Through AR” at the Funato and Miboro power plants. They are considering expanding its use to the Nagano Power Plant.
Full-scale implementation of “Power Plant See-Through AR,” an interactive tour experience that uses AR to visualize the internal structure of power plants and how electricity is generated, began at the Funato and Miboro power plants in August 2026. The initiative aims to deepen visitors’ understanding and enhance the value of the experience.
The content overlays AR animations on actual equipment and allows visitors to simulate control of water volume and output through device操作. It is designed to provide an intuitive understanding of the inside of hydroelectric turbine generators and the power-generation process.
The company plans to expand its use to the Miboro and Nagano power plants, with the aim of deepening local understanding and increasing interest in energy and infrastructure among visitors, including children. Further enhancements to the tour experience are also under consideration.
