CRI Middleware first displayed “Chūtsūsha,” a system for customizing in-vehicle digital meter displays from a smartphone, at Japan Mobility Show Bizweek 2026. The presentation explained how in-vehicle meter displays can be registered as source materials, then generated and applied via a smartphone.
At an exhibition booth held as part of the event at Makuhari Messe, CRI Middleware first displayed “Chūtsūsha,” a system for customizing in-vehicle digital meters and cabin sound from a smartphone.
Chūtsūsha uses a system in which images intended for display are registered as source materials. Rather than generating thumbnails from completed images, it generates them from the source materials and adapts them to the display requirements of an in-vehicle digital meter. CRI checks in advance whether the displayed content could be misinterpreted or violate public order and morality.
The smartphone and vehicle initially negotiate the connection over Bluetooth, while high-speed Wi-Fi is used for data transfer. Once registered, the images are transferred to the vehicle and displayed in a blank area of the meter.
The framework is intended not only for personal use but also to improve ease of driving and operational efficiency for commercial vehicle drivers who use multiple vehicles, by standardizing different displays for each vehicle.
