At Agriculture WEEK (J-AGRI TOKYO), DMG MORI Digital株式会社 will exhibit a demonstration applying its Edge AI object detection technology to tree detection. Linked to FUTABA CORPORATION’s industrial wireless remote controller, the system detects tree locations in real time and notifies the operator.
DMG MORI Digital株式会社 and FUTABA CORPORATION will jointly exhibit a demonstration applying Edge AI object detection technology to tree detection at the 16th Agriculture WEEK (J-AGRI TOKYO). The demonstration will showcase a system that detects trees in real time and sends the detection results to an industrial wireless remote controller.
The Edge AI technology used in the exhibit analyzes camera footage on equipment at the site, instantly extracting the location and size of trees. Combined with FUTABA CORPORATION’s wireless communications and remote-control technologies, the demonstration will show the entire process from tree detection through notification as a single integrated operation.
Going forward, the companies plan to apply Edge AI to a broad range of industrial equipment, including agricultural machinery, and will continue supporting changes to the detection targets, integration into actual equipment and eventual commercialization.
