IHI物流産業システム is advancing efforts to achieve zero serious incidents and strengthen risk assessments based on the Five Safety Principles. Priorities for fiscal 2026 are strengthening the OHSMS and ensuring safe behavior by each individual.
The company has adopted the “Five Safety Principles” as the Group-wide code of conduct and stated its policy of strengthening risk assessments and fostering a safety culture, with the goal of zero serious incidents and zero lost-time accidents. Its top management message emphasizes the establishment of an organisational structure that ensures safety.
The plan identifies strengthening the occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) and safe behavior by each individual as priority activities for fiscal 2026. The objectives are to establish workplace operating standards linked to risk assessments, embed the PDCA cycle and strengthen alignment with ISO 45001. Hazards are classified into 4 levels, A through D, and the policy is to prioritize Levels A and B and advance the implementation of inherently safe conditions.
The organisational structure is centered on the Company-wide Safety and Health Committee and comprises the occupational health and safety, plant, construction and service divisions. It aims to achieve both deliberation and action execution while promoting “zero incidents” and a mutually reinforcing safety culture. The company has described a structure for advancing safety management and training for all employees, including those of partner companies.
The main initiatives include strengthening the occupational health and safety management system and safe behavior by each individual, with priority given to the quantitative management of hazards based on risk assessments and the implementation of inherently safe conditions. The trend in occupational accidents was 0 fatalities, 0 lost-time injuries and 3 non-lost-time injuries, for a total of 3, from fiscal 2023 through fiscal 2025; fiscal 2025 recorded 0 non-lost-time injuries.
Safety and health activities with partner companies include safety education and training, workplace patrols and the sharing of accident cases through the Safety and Health Council, with the aim of raising the standards of member companies and achieving zero accidents and zero incidents.
