GNI Group held a second-quarter earnings briefing on 18 August 2026. The company reported that it had completed its acquisition of Ayumi Pharmaceutical Holdings in July 2026, establishing a revenue base for its Japan business.
Matsui Ryosuke (松井亮介), Director, Representative Executive Vice President, COO and CFO, explained that overseas companies had previously approached the group about selling medicines in Japan, but those plans could not be pursued because the group lacked a sales network. He said the acquisition would enable the company to handle sales in the Japanese market through Ayumi Pharmaceutical.
The acquisition is expected to help reduce the company’s dependence on the I-SU-RUI drug and strengthen its business base in the Japanese market, with attention focused on future expansion of its sales channels and stabilization of earnings.
