Apple revised prices across the iPhone lineup in conjunction with its new product announcement. The base iPhone 17 rose to approximately ¥160,000, while prices for other models also increased, reportedly reflecting the impact of foreign exchange rates and surging semiconductor prices.
iPhone prices were revised in conjunction with the Apple Event held late at night Japan time. The increases ranged from ¥12,000 to ¥47,000, with the base iPhone 17 revised to ¥159,800.
The official Japanese online store has been updated with the new prices. The iPhone 16 128GB now costs ¥139,800, while the iPhone 17 is priced at ¥159,800 for 256GB and ¥194,800 for 512GB. The Air is priced at ¥189,800, ¥224,800 and ¥294,800 for 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, respectively. As no base iPhone 18 model was announced, the base iPhone 17 is currently being treated as the latest model.
The higher-end iPhone 18 models were announced on the same day, but no base model was unveiled, leaving the base iPhone 17 positioned as the latest model. As with the price revisions since last year, the latest changes appear to reflect higher costs resulting from surging semiconductor and memory prices.
