6 nutrition science students from Kobe Gakuin University developed the original osechi "福寿奏" with the cooperation of まねき食品 and Hanshin Department Store. Its theme is the fukujusō flower, which symbolizes happiness and longevity, and the menu was developed so that people of a wide range of generations could enjoy it.
The osechi consists of two tiers, the first and second. The first tier gives traditional elements a modern twist, including grilled shrimp served with lemon. The second tier features a selection of Japanese-Western fusion dishes, including matcha terrine and herb-rolled chicken, presented in a colorful arrangement.
Noguchi Ayaka (野口 綾香), a third-year nutrition science student who participated in the development, said that the members' opinions had been incorporated into the product. Advance sales will be available through 22 December at Hanshin Department Store's Umeda main store and other locations. The price is ¥19,980 per set, including tax.
Advance orders are scheduled to be accepted through 22 December at the Umeda main store and other locations. A telephone number for inquiries is also provided.
