The Musashino Bank,Ltd. will introduce renewable electricity using an off-site PPA at 9 sites in Saitama Prefecture and expects to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 391 tonnes annually. The initiative was announced on 28 September.
ミツウロコグリーンエネルギー and ミツウロコアグリ announced that they would launch an off-site corporate PPA with The Musashino Bank,Ltd. Supply is scheduled to be provided to 9 sites of The Musashino Bank,Ltd. in Saitama City, delivering renewable electricity with additionality.
The electricity supplied will consist of renewable electricity generated at agrivoltaic power plants known as “Solar Farms” and associated environmental value, and will be supplied over the long term to the locations where it is consumed through a retail electricity provider. Unlike an on-site PPA, the electricity will be sourced from power generation facilities outside the consumption area through the power transmission and distribution network.
The reduction is calculated using the adjusted emissions factor for fiscal 2024 under the Act on Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasures, and annual CO2 emissions reductions of approximately 391 tonnes are expected. This will be The Musashino Bank,Ltd.'s first renewable energy deployment through an off-site PPA.
