NTB's EXPEDITIONSTRIKER campervan has won the 2026 Good Design Award, giving the vehicle a triple crown that includes the Social Products Award and Phase Free Award.
EXPEDITIONSTRIKER, a campervan developed and sold by 日本特種ボディー株式会社, has won the 2026 Good Design Award. This makes it the first example to achieve a triple crown alongside the Social Products Award at the Social Products Award 2026 and the Audience Award at the Phase Free Award 2026.
The Good Design Award's overall assessment highly praised its phase-free concept, which connects everyday life with emergencies, its vehicle structure that combines off-road capability with residential comfort, and the fact that it can be driven with a standard driver's license. The assessment indicated the vehicle's potential to develop into mobile social infrastructure capable of responding immediately during disasters.
EXPEDITIONSTRIKER won three awards in 2026: the Social Products Award at the Social Products Award 2026, the Audience Award at the Phase Free Award 2026, and the Good Design Award. The vehicle is also characterized by a design that integrates everyday travel and residential comfort with support functions for emergencies.
The company's representative director, Hachiya Shingo (蜂谷愼吾), welcomed the triple crown while commenting, “We want to demonstrate the potential of a new type of campervan through its use by local communities and society.” The vehicle has an all-aluminum body to ensure off-road capability, while achieving a gross vehicle weight under 3.5 tonnes and allowing it to be driven with a standard driver's license.
