For the second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027, テイツー posted record revenue and operating profit of approximately 2.2 times the year-earlier level. In response, it will revise its full-year earnings forecast upward.
At its earnings briefing for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027, テイツー reported that cumulative first-half revenue had reached a record high and that operating profit, ordinary profit and interim net income attributable to owners of the parent had increased substantially year on year. Higher sales and proactive sales initiatives offset the increase in selling, general and administrative expenses and pushed up profits.
Quarterly revenue remained strong for used trading cards, used games, and new and used hobby products. Cumulative first-half revenue exceeded the year-earlier period, and the second quarter, which faced the impact of the previous year's reactionary decline, also remained firm.
Under the upward revision to its consolidated earnings forecast, the company projected full-year revenue of ¥43.5 billion and operating profit of ¥2 billion for the fiscal year ending February 2027. It also presented medium- to long-term targets of revenue of ¥50 billion and operating profit of ¥2.5 billion for the fiscal year ending February 2029. The company intends to maintain its dividend policy.
In its business operations, the company plans to strengthen its reuse business centered on its store network, integrate and expand its e-commerce operations, and expand TAYS, its automated trading-card appraisal machine. It also plans to consider and prepare for overseas expansion. The group has 190 stores and continues to pursue mall-based openings as part of its store-opening strategy.
