Japan System Techniques’ TomoBe PHR app will be deployed under Wakayama Prefecture’s Specific Health Guidance Infrastructure Development Project, marking its first deployment in the prefecture. The company also plans to expand the service for local governments following its launch in May 2026. The initiative will integrate daily activity data with health-checkup data to provide ongoing support for health guidance.
Japan System Techniques Co.,Ltd. (JAST) officially announced that TomoBe, a PHR app specializing in health guidance, will be deployed under Wakayama Prefecture’s project to develop infrastructure for specific health guidance using ICT and PHR technology. The service will launch in May 2026, marking its first deployment in the specific health guidance field. JAST plans to strengthen its rollout to local governments by leveraging its holdings of anonymized claims and health-checkup data covering approximately 10 million people.
Wakayama Prefecture faces challenges in implementing specific health guidance, with the implementation rate remaining low at 32.3% as of fiscal 2024. TomoBe has been recognized for integrating lifelog and health-checkup data, enabling public health nurses and registered dietitians to continuously monitor users’ daily lives and provide ongoing, rather than one-off, support. The deployment is expected to make the app a tool for encouraging behavioral change in users’ daily lives.
In the digital health field, products from other companies, including KENCOM and CARADA, are also gaining adoption. JAST plans to use its track record in Wakayama Prefecture as a foothold for a full-scale rollout to local governments and health insurance societies nationwide. The deployment is positioned as part of the prefecture-wide infrastructure development initiative, with further expansion expected.
The deployment is intended to shift support from the conventional model centered on face-to-face guidance to continuous follow-up in users’ daily lives. TomoBe offers a user interface with functions tailored to health guidance, allowing users to visualize their health status through the app and receive ongoing feedback from healthcare professionals. Through the project, Wakayama Prefecture aims to optimize medical costs and extend healthy life expectancy.
