Fukuvi Chemical Industry has launched a waste-recycling business using 3D printers. Combining this with its expertise in resin processing, the company is pursuing new applications for waste.
The new business is called the “Fukuvi 3D Printing Hub,” where waste is brought to a plant in Fukui City for processing. The company uses its core technology, profile extrusion molding, to turn materials containing resin into products.
The company handles waste plastics, thinned wood and food waste as raw materials, and offers cost-saving options by upcycling them into products such as furniture and building materials.
The target customers are companies, local governments and others, and the business will propose new methods for waste treatment.
