SV League announced that there was an issue with the libero replacement procedure in the NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki vs Victorina Himeji match. An illegal libero replacement in the fourth set was discovered. The match stands, but the official records will not be amended.
On Wednesday the 21st, SV League announced that a misapplication of the competition rules had occurred in the NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki vs Victorina Himeji match in Round 1 of the 2026-27 SV.LEAGUE WOMEN, held on 18 October. The incident involved a libero replacement. It was identified in the fourth set, and the replacement procedure at that point was deemed improper. The match stands despite the infraction, and the official records will not be amended. SVL said it would apologize to fans and other parties concerned.
Specifically, at 22-22, the player on court changed from middle blocker Mira Kerasimirova Todorova to Tanaka Saki (田中咲希). At 23-23, the player changed from Tanaka Saki (田中咲希) to libero Fukudome Emi (福留慧美), and the set proceeded to deuce. At 27-27, Todorova entered again, but because Todorova had originally changed out for Tanaka, Tanaka should have entered instead. Todorova resumed play without completing a formal replacement, resulting in the procedural issue being called into question.
