Taito City, Tokyo, announced unauthorized access to Travel Zip, Inc., the administrator of the city's websites, and confirmed that personal information had been leaked. The affected sites were TAITO Odekake Navi and Sites Associated with Tsutajū, Taito City Official Website, with approximately 5,500 and 120 records, respectively, affected.
On 23 October, Taito City, Tokyo, announced that personal information had been leaked following unauthorized access to Travel Zip, Inc., the administrator of the city's websites.
The affected websites are the Taito City tourism information site "TAITO Odekake Navi" and the official "Sites Associated with Tsutajū, Taito City" website operated by the Taito City Council for Promoting the Use of the Taiga Drama "Berabō". The latter is scheduled to cease publication on 12 March 2026.
The personal information confirmed as leaked to date is as follows. For approximately 5,500 users who downloaded photographs, requested brochures or made inquiries through TAITO Odekake Navi: names (or company names), email addresses, telephone numbers, addresses and other information. For approximately 120 users who made inquiries through the official Sites Associated with Tsutajū, Taito City website: names (with phonetic readings), email addresses, addresses, telephone numbers, inquiry details and other information.
Taito City is currently investigating the details. A warning has been issued that emails, telephone calls or postal items requesting personal information may be sent by parties impersonating Taito City or the company operating the services.
