SEONGSU JAPAN HAKATA 2026 held a 7-day hybrid POP-UP at Hakata Marui. In-store sales and exhibition with online sales were operated within the same sales area, bringing brands that had drawn a strong response in Shibuya to the physical store, while using exhibition and online sales to gauge the response to first-time participating brands.
SEONGSU JAPAN, operated by KITERU合同会社, was held at Hakata Marui in Fukuoka for 7 days from 28 August to 3 September 2026. The event was a hybrid POP-UP that brought together brands available for immediate purchase in-store and brands that were exhibited while being sold online.
Brands that had gained popularity in Shibuya participated in the in-store sales segment, building a track record at a Japanese department store. Brands participating for the first time were exhibited and sold online, allowing the company to gauge their potential in the Japanese market from visitors' social media posts and reactions in front of the booths.
The company handled the entire process in-house, from brand selection and contracting to importing and labeling, logistics arrangements, sales-floor planning, in-store and online sales operations, and brand-by-brand reporting after the event. It also offers flexibility to adjust the number of participating brands to suit the venue size and event period.
Visitors to the Hakata venue enjoyed exploring, experiencing, and purchasing products from multiple brands rather than focusing on a single brand, and the large volume of social media posts increased exposure on social media. The hybrid sales-floor format also provided brands with information to help determine the format of their next event, while helping the venue manage inventory risk and reduce the burden of maintaining a sales operation.
