EIZO announced that it will launch an OLED monitor for video production on 1 December. It features technology that suppresses dullness when displaying bright areas and is designed to preserve contrast reproduction compared with previous models.
EIZO announced the launch of an OLED monitor for video production. The new model is designed to reproduce contrast more accurately so that bright images can be displayed without appearing dull.
Unlike LCDs, the new monitor uses the self-emissive characteristics of OLED pixels while incorporating an adjustment function that selects bright areas for display and a function that shows the areas where control is operating. It is designed to approximate the way images actually appear in video production.
By relaxing or avoiding conventional control intended to protect the panel when displaying bright areas, the monitor allows users to select an appearance closer to that of an LCD or projector. The price on the direct-sales website is ¥495,000, set as the published price.
